Today the DGLO event team is announcing a new presenting partner for the 2024 Discraft Great Lakes Open: Gerrit J Verburg. Ledgestone had previously announced that Zuca would be the presenting sponsor for this event, but after further discussions, Zuca elected to become the presenting sponsor for Pro Worlds, leaving open the option for another company to step up to sponsor DGLO. Gerrit J Verburg first jumped into the disc golf scene in 2023 by sponsoring DGLO and Ledgestone and is making a significantly increased investment into the sport in 2024.
Gerrit J Verburg has been in business since 1979 and is headquartered in Fenton, MI. They produce licorice, candy, chocolate and confectionary products. “Nate and his team have been great to work with. As a first-time sponsor of the Ledgestone and DGLO events in 2023, our company felt they exceeded expectations in representing our company and product. With the recent substantial growth in the sport of disc golf, we found significant appeal in the value proposition offered by the team’s 2024 event sponsorship packages,” said Jason Aric Jones, CFO & COO of Gerrit J. Verburg Co. For wholesale information on Gerrit J Verburg’s product, please click this link.
Gerrit J Verburg will have a presence on the ground at this year’s DGLO event and will have product available in the player packs at both the DGLO and Ledgestone events. They will also be sponsoring the hole 18 VIP area at Toboggan and will also have DGN ads in the coverage for both DGLO and Ledgestone. “Getting sponsors from outside of the sport of disc golf is the key to growing our market into new areas. We are thrilled to be working with Jason and his team at Gerrit J Verburg to promote their brand and elevate DGLO,” said Nate Heinold, DGLO TD. The 42nd annual Discraft Great Lakes Open will take place September 5th to the 8th.
